About Attitudes DanceA bit of background information

I set up Attitudes in 2006 to offer dance tuition to all ages and abilities in a range of different dance styles.

Based in Plymouth, Devon, Attitudes aims to make dance accessible to anyone who wants to have a go.

Whether you are 5 or 85 years young, you are never to old to give dance a try.

Dance classes will be offered from beginner level through to teacher coaching for the more advanced dancer in the following styles:

I began dancing at an early age and have continued to develop myself over the last 20 years. I am a qualified member of the International Dance Teachers Association in all the styles of dance listed above.

I began teaching 10 years ago, working in a local school in my home town in Surrey, where I taught a range of ages and styles developing work for both exams and public performances.

I progressed into choreography work in 2003, when I was asked to work with the University of Plymouth’s Musical Theatre Society on their production of A Hired Man.

Since then I have worked with them on other shows, the latest being the 2010 production of Grease. I have also choreographed two large-scale charity fashion shows and Scout Association Gang Shows within the local community.

As a performer I took part in a number of shows, Festivals and competitions including work for charity groups such as St. Lukes Hospice. I have also taken a range of exams in all subjects, and I am continuing to develop my own skills, by studying for further teaching qualifications in all styles. During university I was an active member of the Musical Theatre Society, taking part in annual productions, my final role being as Frenchy in Grease.

I have decided to form Attitudes in order to bring dance into the community, and to allow people to experience the fun and friendship that dance can create.
